Impacts

I had identified three impacts that the attraction has on Singapore. The first impact is economic. Since National Orchid Garden is the number 1 attraction by the TripAdvisor, tourist will change their money into Singapore dollars and spend it in our country. Hence, this can draw foreign currencies into Singapore which will lead to an increase in our economy and also an increase in visitors visiting the garden. The second impact is environmental. As mentioned earlier on, the air in the garden is fresh. Furthermore, the items sold in the souvenir shop are mostly used from recycled items. Hence, the entire garden is actually very eco-friendly. With this, more visitors might want to come over to Singapore to visit the garden. The last impact is socio-cultural. Some visitors might not have that many orchid flowers in their country. Hence, they might choose to come over to the National Orchid Garden to gain some new experience that they might not have experienced in their country.

With that, I strongly encourage you to visit the National Orchid Garden. Hope to see and hear from you soon!

Strengths

I felt that the National Orchid Garden has met the needs of its target market. As mentioned earlier on, I felt that the garden targets on people that love nature. It has totally met the needs of the people as their main objective is to enjoy the nature in the garden. The price to enter the National Orchid Garden has made it better than the rest of the gardens. For example, Gardens by the Bay, you need to pay a total of $28 before you can enter both the conservatories. Furthermore, the amount of plants inside the conservatories is rather limited. Hence, it is definitely worth the visit to the National Orchid Garden. National Orchid Garden focuses on fostering close ties between the nations. Thus, it had been successful in promoting themselves as they attracted quite a lot of tourist to the garden itself.

As quoted from jmr_aus from Sydney, Australia, he stated “ A unique and beautiful experience. Definitely worth a visit. Stunning orchids in flower or all shapes, sizes, and colours. A truly beautiful garden with lots of photo opportunities.”
Hence, the amount of orchid flowers in the garden is the highlight of this attraction.

Continue....

Tickets sold are not refundable. Visitors that bought the ticket on that day need to complete the whole tour in the garden on the same day. Thus, there is nothing visitors can do if the weather were to turn bad. Next, there is no tangible product to carry home. Since this will be the first time experience for most of the visitors, they are unable to exchange their experience if it is unsatisfactory. However, by using word of mouth, it is possible to make the visitors believe that it is worth going in to the garden. Last but not least, the surroundings of the garden needs to be attractive and looks appealing to the visitors. This is to ensure the visitors that they had chosen the right place for a visit.

Nature of service products

Next, I am going to share with you the nature of service products in the National Orchid Garden. I would say that the service provided by the staffs is excellent. They are more than willing to answer any question that was being asked. The staffs in the souvenir shop approached me when I was looking at one of the purses. She kindly explained to me how the purse was made. Most importantly, they always carried a smile on their face wherever they go. With the staff’s friendliness, people will tend to visit the garden again. Next, different people view things differently. Hence, not all people will be attracted by the orchid flowers due to the way they see things. However, flowers lover will definitely choose to visit the garden again. In addition, the garden is an outdoor garden. In an event where there is rain, the garden will be affected by it. With this, people might not be able to enjoy themselves in the outdoor garden.

I will further elaborate about the service products on my next post.

Moving on...

I believe that the reasons most people visited the garden is because of the outdoor environment as well as the beauty of the flowers. Furthermore, brochures and maps are made available upon entering the garden. Rest assured as you will not miss out any station in the garden with the map provided. Next, remember to bring along your camera when you visit the garden as you can take multiple photos inside. You can keep these photos as memories too. Last but not least, there is a souvenir shop located at the exit of the garden. There are many different kinds of souvenirs such as photo frames that are nicely decorated with orchid flowers, purses, key chains and many more. There are also many sheltered resting areas in the garden. In case of the sudden weather change, you will definitely not get wet.

Motivating Factors!

Allow me to share with you some of the motivating factors to the National Orchid Garden.  Firstly, the price to the gardens is relatively cheap. The admission fee for an adult is $5. As for senior citizens and students, it is $1 and children under 12 are free of charge. It is definitely worth it as I personally went in and it took me about 2 hours to finish visiting the whole garden. Secondly, there are a total of 9 stations in the garden. At each station, you can find the various types and colours of orchid flower. Furthermore, there are also signboards available to explain about the details of the flowers. This allows you to recognise and have a better understanding of the flowers. Lastly, you can enjoy the fresh air in the garden. The refreshing air comes from the outdoor garden which is filled with many plants and trees. This will also help to relax a person’s mind.

National Orchid Garden!

It was a pity that you are unable to visit all the attractions that you had researched on. However, the attraction I would like to recommend to you is the National Orchid Garden. I will update more information about the National Orchid Garden as well as pictures. Do stay tune to my blog!

Here is a brief introduction of the National Orchid Garden. The National Orchid Garden is located at the highest hill in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Furthermore, it is a public ownership as it is owned by National Parks. The opening hour of the garden is from 8.30 am to 7 pm. There are several ways to get to the garden. One way would be by bus. You can take bus 7, 105, 123 or 174 and alight along Napier Road. The garden is about 15 minute walk from the Gardens' Tanglin Gate. Another way would be by Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). You need to transfer to the circle line and alight at the Botanic Gardens station. The garden is about a 20 minute walk from the station itself. I will attach a map that I had collected for you in case you forget the way to go to the garden. Next, from what I had observed, I would say that most of the visitors are day visitors. These visitors are mainly young adult and also young couples with baby. I believed that the National Orchid Garden targets on people that love nature. From my observation, most of the visitors would stop halfway and stand at an area just to breathe in the air.
